The Methodist Church - South Molton and Ringsash Circuit

Welcome to South Molton & Ringsash Methodist Circuit

Dear One and All,

Welcome to the South Molton and Ringsash Circuit website. We are part of the Methodist Church of Great Britain and the Plymouth and Exeter District, which comprises almost 300 churches in the District and about 9000 members.

The South Molton and Ringsash Circuit comprises of 12 churches on either side of two major roads; the A361 southeast of Barnstaple and up to the edge of Exmoor and the A377 northwest of Crediton. We serve the market town of South Molton and the surrounding villages, giving a Christian presence within the local communities and working alongside Christians from other denominations wherever that is possible.

Serving the Lord Jesus Christ is not just a Sunday activity for the Circuit. We look to serve with a range of activities for all ages, working in partnership with others to make this happen where we are unable to take a lead. In the villages this may be through fellowship groups and coffee mornings, or through support of a range of community activities. In the larger churches in South Molton and North Molton, in particular, there are a wider range of activities including Boys Brigade, Girls Brigade, Youth Clubs, Messy Church, all running alongside the normal Fellowship activities, Bible Studies and House Groups. Full details of ‘what’s on’ can be found on the relevant church pages.

But, even if the activity you are looking for is not in your local church there may be people travelling from where you are to a location where that activity is held, so please ask. We try, where possible, to support activities and events across the circuit as one family of Christians and so there is much intermingling.

People from the churches are also involved in community based activities, in schools, in hospitals and local nursing homes, and we have a Youth Worker actively engaged with young people within the local secondary schools and in South Molton, North Molton and Brayford.

Our Sunday worship shows a mix of the traditional to more modern styles depending on the week and location. You will also find, being the Methodist Church, we eat a lot together – the Methodist gift to the World Church!

It is my hope that you will find a welcome in our churches, just as I did when I moved here in September 2014. It is my hope too that you will be able to make a spiritual home with us; with a life focussed on faith through prayer, study, worship and fellowship and a life transformed by living out that faith on a daily basis.

If you want further information about the Methodist Church in this Circuit feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.

So welcome again, in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord!

Revd Stuart A Innalls

Superintendent Minister.
