|The Methodist Church - South Molton and Ringsash Circuit|
North Molton Chapel
North Molton Chapel is a forward looking village Methodist Church, and is situated in the centre of the village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. In addition to the Church activities detailed below, there is an active sports club which includes various pitches, a running track, floodlighting along with a modern clubhouse and sports hall. There are also many clubs an societies, e.g. art, drama, history, coffee club, women's meeting.
The village is a true community where people genuinely seek to support each other.
A Services of Worship is held each Sunday at 11.00 a.m. and also, on some weeks, another Service later in the day at 5.00 p.m. or 6.30 p.m. A variety of forms of worship are use - traditional, Cafe Church videos, discussions, but always followed by refreshments and an informal time of fellowship.
Additionally, at the same time as the 11.00 a.m. service there is a lively Junior Church and creche facilities.
During the Week
Prayer meetings together with various study groups and courses are held from time to time largely fitted in around the farming year which, as in most farming areas, shapes the village timetable in many ways.
On Thursdays a very active Youth Club meets between 7.15 p.m. - 9.15 p.m. during term time (hopefully resuming soon following closure during the Covid pandemic), and the programme includes many activities for 11-16 yr olds both on and off the premises. The group has about 30 members.
We have close links with our Anglican friends at All Saints Church. We join together in shared services from time to time, advertise each others activities and participate in many shared events and activities. The two Churches also have close links with the village school with the schools using the Churches for some festivals and members of the Churches going into the school.
The Churches also seek to support those who may be needing any form of help or support whether they belong to a Church or not is immaterial.
Please contact the Senior Steward, Tina Ley (01769 550309) or the Church Secretary Betty Paul (01769 572456) for further information about the services or activities.
